This is your official guide to the music festival cruise arrival process for Monsters of Rock Cruise. No guesswork, no last-minute panic, just everything you need to hit the pier like a pro. FLIGHTS & ARRIVAL TIPS
Don’t gamble with fate. When booking flights into Los Angeles for Monsters of Rock Cruise, we strongly recommend arriving a day or two early. Not only does this help you soak in Southern California’s exciting nightlife, but it protects your trip against unexpected flight delays, luggage snafus, or traffic nightmares and allows you to join us for some optional pre-cruise fun!
Flying in the Day of Departure?
- Arrive in Los Angeles (LAX) no later than 12:00 PM on Thursday, May 6th.
- If you plan to fly into or out of Long Beach, Orange County or Burbank, please allow additional travel time in the event of traffic.
Post-Cruise Departures:
- Schedule flights departing Los Angeles no earlier than 1:00 PM on Tuesday, May 11th.
- If departing from Long Beach, Orange County or Burbank, please allow additional travel time in the event of traffic.
GROUND TRANSPORTATION & TRANSFERS
Distance from The Port of Los Angeles World Cruise Center in San Pedro, California:
- Los Angeles International Airport (LAX): ~20 miles (30-60 minutes, depending on traffic)
- Long Beach Airport (LBG): ~15 miles** (20-40 minutes, depending on traffic)
** via the 405 and 110 Freeways and is located 6 miles west of Downtown Long Beach.
Travel times may vary widely depending on traffic conditions. Please allow plenty of time for travel from the airports.
Taxi Fare:
- Taxis are readily available at the airports as well as the pier. The flat rate between LAX and the World Cruise Center is typically in the range of $55–$70, depending on the taxi company and any applicable surcharges. For other destinations, taxi fares generally start at about $3.00–$3.50 upon entering the cab, with an additional charge of approximately $3.00–$3.50 per mile. Additional fees may apply for airport pickups, traffic delays, or late-night travel.
Ride Shares & Shuttles:
- Go Airport Shuttle and PickUpRide are two great options, however, there are many more so be sure to do your research. Many area hotels also provide shuttles to the port if you’re staying pre-cruise. Check directly with your hotel for details.
Car Rentals:
Several rental agencies operate at and nearby LAX. Many offer free shuttles between the airport and their offices. Confirm whether shuttle services are required when reserving your rental.
Two rental car companies in San Pedro near the Los Angeles Cruise Terminal offer free customer pick-ups and drop-offs to the terminal. Both convenient locations operate Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., Saturday, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., and are closed Sunday.

Secure on-site parking is available at the World Cruise Center, with approximately 2,500+ parking spaces managed by Parking Concepts Inc.
Parking Rates:
- First hour: Free
- Each additional hour: Approximately $2.00
- Daily maximum (standard vehicle): ~$20 per day
- Daily maximum (oversized vehicle/RV): ~$40 per day
