FLIGHTS & ARRIVAL TIPS

Don’t gamble with fate. When booking flights into Miami for Monsters of Rock Cruise, we strongly recommend arriving a day or two early. Not only does this help you soak in Miami’s exciting nightlife, but it protects your trip against unexpected flight delays, luggage snafus, or traffic nightmares.

 Flying in the Day of Departure?

  • Arrive in Miami (MIA) no later than 11:00 AM on Sunday, April 12th.
  • If flying into Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL), plan to arrive no later than 10:00 AM.

Post-Cruise Departures:

  • Schedule flights departing Miami (MIA) no earlier than 12:00 PM on Friday, April 17th.
  • If departing from FLL, book flights no earlier than 1:00 PM.

Flying into Fort Lauderdale? Add 1-2 extra hours to your travel time for potential traffic between airports and the port.

GROUND TRANSPORTATION & TRANSFERS

Distance from PortMiami:

  • Miami International Airport (MIA): ~8 miles (approx. 25 minutes)
  • Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood Airport (FLL): ~25 miles (approx. 45 minutes)

Taxi Fare:

  • From MIA to PortMiami: flat rate of $24 (subject to change), plus a $1 fuel surcharge.

Ride Shares & Shuttles:

  • Go Airport Shuttle and Super Shuttle operate in both Miami and Fort Lauderdale. Many area hotels also provide shuttles to the port if you’re staying pre-cruise. Check directly with your hotel for details.

Driving Directions:

  • From I-95 South: Take Exit #3B Bayside. Head south to NE 5th Street, turn left, and follow it onto the PortMiami Bridge. Follow signs to your terminal.
  • From I-95 North: Exit at NW 2nd Street. Go straight to NW 5th Street, turn right, and follow it onto the PortMiami Bridge. Follow signs to your terminal.

PARKING AT PORTMIAMI

Parking Rates:

  • Short-term parking: $8 per vehicle per day (no overnight)
  • Long-term parking: $22 per vehicle per day (overnight or longer)
  • Lost ticket fee: $242 (equivalent to an 11-day cruise)
  • Payment accepted: Cash, Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, U.S. Traveler’s Checks. Debit cards not accepted.

Oversized Vehicles:

  • Oversized vehicles (vans, RVs, trailers) must park in Lot #2 across from Cruise Terminal E.

Disabled Parking:

  • Vehicles with a disabled permit receive two hours free parking.
  • Beyond two hours, regular rates apply unless the vehicle has specialized equipment (ramps, lifts, hand controls) or a Florida Toll Exemption permit, in which case parking may be complimentary.

To request a disability waiver, notify the parking attendant at the exit and provide documentation.
