When booking your flights to and from Ft. Lauderdale, Florida for Monsters of Rock Cruise, we suggest that you consider arriving a day or two earlier so that you can take advantage of the local attractions in the Ft. Lauderdale area. This also helps to avoid potential flight delays, baggage collection and transfer problems that could occur. However, if you need to arrive the day of The Monsters of Rock Cruise, please arrive no later than 11:30 am on Monday, February 8th as all guests MUST be on board by 2:30 pm. We also recommend that you schedule your departure for no earlier than 11 am on Saturday, February 13th, in the event there is a delay in debarkation. If you plan to fly into or out of Miami, please add an additional 1-2 hours for travel in the event of traffic.

Conveniently located in the heart of Broward County, Port Everglades is easily accessible from area airports and hotels by car, taxi, and shuttle, bus and rail.
Distance from Port Everglades to:
Ft. Lauderdale-Hollywood Airport (FLL): 2 miles (10 minutes)-adjacent to the port
Miami International Airport (MIA): 25 miles (45 minutes)
Airport Transfer
The Ft. Lauderdale-Hollywood Airport (FLL) is the closest area airport to Port Everglades. Consider arriving a day or two earlier so that you can take advantage of the local attractions in the Ft. Lauderdale area. This also helps to avoid potential flight delays, baggage collection and transfer problems that could occur. If arriving in Miami or Palm Beach, please plan accordingly and allow for additional time.
Taxi
Taxi fare from the Ft. Lauderdale-Hollywood Airport to Port Everglade is currently about $15 (prices subject to change).
As of April 15, 2014, a $1.00 fuel surcharge is now added to every trip due to an increase in gas prices. Taxicab drivers are required to obtain a fuel surcharge decal and post it on the vehicle’s rear passenger side window.
For other destinations, the cab fare is $2.40 upon entering the taxicab and $2.40 per mile thereafter.
Bus
Many area hotels provide bus/shuttle transportation between Ft. Lauderdale and the hotel for pre-booked reservations. You should contact your hotel for available options and details. Here are two airport shuttle options, servicing the greater Ft. Lauderdale and Miami areas:
Car Rental
The state-of-the art Rental Car Center at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL) houses a large number of rental car companies in one location with shared shuttle bus service for Port Everglades. Check with your car rental agency to ensure they participate in the shuttle program. There are also car rental firms licensed to do business at Port Everglades that are not located at FLL. Some provide shuttle service from cruise terminals to their nearby rental locations.
Driving Directions
If using a GPS device, use 1850 Eller Dr, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33316 as your destination address.
Port Everglades is easily accessible from all major highways:
- From I-95 south: take Exit #26 to I-595 East. Exit 12b, to Port Everglades.
- From I-95 north: take Exit #24 to I-595 East. Exit 12b, to Port Everglades.
- From I-75 north or south: take Exit #19 to I-595 East. Exit 12b, to Port Everglades
- From the Florida Turnpike north or south: take Exit #54 to I-595 East. Exit 12b, to Port Everglades.
For those who are already in the Fort Lauderdale area, the 17th Street or State Road 84 entrances may be more convenient. Signage inside Port Everglades will direct you to parking garages and terminals.

Ft. Lauderdale International Airport (FLL)
is adjacent to the Port and takes a minimum of 10 minutes
Miami International Airport (MIA)
is 25 miles from Port Everglades. Travel time is approximately 45 minutes.
We recommend that if you are booking your flights to your cruise to Ft. Lauderdale that you consider arriving a day or two earlier so that you can take advantage of the local attractions in the Ft. Lauderdale area. This also helps to avoid potential flight delays, baggage collection and transfer problems that could occur.
If you are arriving on the same day your cruise departs, please schedule your arrival and departure flights as follows:
- Ft. Lauderdale – arrive no later than 11:30 am. Depart no earlier than 11:00 am.
- Miami – arrive no later than 9:30 am. Depart no earlier than 1:00 pm.

For Disabled Persons
In compliance with Florida Statute 316.1964, parking fees are waived at all Port Everglades lots and garages to disabled persons operating vehicles with ONE of the following qualifications:
Display a Florida Toll Exemption Permit as explained in Florida Statute 316.1964
Vehicle is modified with specialized equipment such as ramps, lifts, or foot and hand controls for use by a disabled person (see example below)
Display the Disabled Veteran (DV) license plate issued from any state government. The DV license plate must be on the car parked in a Port Everglades lot or garage at the time of your cruise. Florida DV license plates are issued under Florida Statute 320.084 .
Parking agents will not waive parking fees for any other reason than those listed above.
