We are thrilled to announce that our home for the 2022 Monsters of Rock Cruise is Royal Caribbean’s beautiful Freedom of the Seas. As this is the sister ship of our 2020 ship, The Independence of the Seas, our MORC alumni will be very familiar with the deck plan and feel of this new ship! With incredible music venues throughout the ship, there is truly no better ship to experience the one and only…Monsters of Rock Cruise!
This Freedom-class vessel received a massive makeover in 2020 as part of the cruise line’s, “Royal Amplified” program. In addition to a ship wide refresh, new bars and restaurants were added. She has won some fantastic accolades over the years and will definitely be a favorite amongst guests.
We know our guests have absolutely loved the last few years aboard Royal Caribbean ships that feature the Royal Promenade. This is truly the center and heart of the ship, spanning the entire length of Deck 5. This naturally lit, four-story boardwalk allows guests to stroll into restaurants and cafés, stop in to do some shopping and of course, grab a drink before the next show. Not to mention, this vibrant and exciting hub connects Monsters of Rock Cruisers to many of our Concert Venues, including, not one, but Two Indoor Main Concert Venues to experience the lineup of shows we have planned! And of course…the Pool Stage is back again!
With so much to do on the Freedom of the Seas, you will never find yourself bored. Grab your bravest friend and challenge them to a race on dueling twisting water slides, Typhoon and Cyclone. These translucent slides offer an adrenaline hit with beautiful sea views – they are officially the boldest waterslides at sea! Or carve out a quick hour or two and let the Vitality at Sea Spa pamper you in world-class relaxation!
What about bars and dining? Whether you need a quick cocktail break at The Lime and Coconut or find yourself wanting to unwind with friends over an evening of Rustic Italian eats at Giovanni’s Table, you will not be disappointed with the bar and dining options available on board.
Need something fried to pick you up and get you through the evening’s shows? El Loco Fresh will be your new onboard guilty pleasure! Fresh chips and salsa, burritos and quesadillas alongside a cold one by the pool… it really doesn’t get much better than this. Plus with the option to dine at a table or take food to go, this is a great option for our MOR Cruisers dashing to the next venue!
And of course, one of the most fabulous hangouts aboard is Playmakers Bar and Arcade – an awesome place to meet up with friends, grab dinner and a few drinks between shows.
This will once again be a “WOW” ship with some of the finest public spaces, bars and restaurants at sea. Paired with incredible Monsters of Rock Cruise music and events, 2022 will knock it out of the park once again! We look forward to hosting you aboard.
